Percutaneous discectomy is a procedure for people with sciatica or leg pain pain caused by a bulging disc that has not ruptured the outer wall. Percutaneous discectomy, or disc decompression, relieves the pressure caused by the disc interfering with nerve roots. It is a minimally invasive procedure performed using only a small needle. An advanced form of this procedure uses plasma technology to remove tissue from the center of the disc. Tissue removal decompresses the disc and relieves pressure on a nearby nerve root to relieve and reduce pain.
Our percutaneous discectomy patients come to us from Arlington Heights, Elgin, Elk Gove, Schaumburg, Palatine, Hoffman Estates, Wheaton and neighboring communities.
