Dr. Omar Said

Interventional Pain Physician

Dr. Said is a Fellowship-Trained, Double Board-Certified Interventional Pain Physician and Anesthesiologist. With a clear focus on delivering an exceptional patient experience, he has thoughtfully helped to design Midwest Vascular and Pain Specialists to reflect his commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Dr. Said completed his anesthesia residency at Rush University Medical Center, where he was honored with two prestigious awards: the Robert D. Dripps, MD Memorial Award for Most Outstanding Resident and the Katalin Selmeczi, MD Memorial Award for Humanism, which recognizes a resident who exemplifies empathy, dedication, and compassion.

He went on to complete an interventional pain management fellowship at the renowned Cleveland Clinic. Upon completion, he received the Ethelee Smith, MD Award for Most Outstanding Fellow. More recently, Dr. Said was recognized by his peers and the nursing staff as Physician of the Year at MacNeal Hospital.

At the heart of Dr. Said’s practice is a mission rooted in honesty, empathy, and collaboration. He believes in working hand-in-hand with patients to identify the root cause of pain and develop a clear, individualized treatment plan. While not all pain can be completely cured, Dr. Said is committed to improving quality of life through attentive, expert care—always making patient comfort and satisfaction his top priorities.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Said enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring Chicago’s summer festivals, and visiting local dog parks with his dog, Ramsey. He’s also an avid Chicago sports enthusiast and enjoys playing golf and tennis.
